Set Screw Riging

This is a closeup of a spring clip in Jacobs Transmission which is giving me problems. There is supposed to be a piece of casting below the hex fitting with a hole for the clip to go in. It broke off so the hex sleeve will not stay in.  

I drilled a hole in the casting and went just a little further leaving a small dimple in the sleeve. I then Tapped the casting with threads so I could put a set screw in to hold the sleeve in place. It should work and it will save Jacob from having to buy new transmission.
